Our Founders:
Dave and Joy Mueller
"You never graduate from the school of faith." - Dave Mueller
Joy and Dave Mueller were faithful missionaries for over 30 years, serving wherever God called them—to the ends of the Earth. In 2010, they were appointed Executive Directors of Kenya Hope, where they served for 13 years. Through their efforts with Kenya Hope, they brought clean water, widow skill training, student sponsorships, drought-driven food relief, and audio Bibles to countless communities across Kenya.
On October 25, 2023, the Lord called Mama Joy and Papa Dave home after a fatal car accident while en route to one of the Hope Centers. Their last journey was one of obedience and service, continuing to live out the call of Christ until the very end.
Below is a link to the video encapsulating their ministry.
Their ministry was marked by a deep love for God's people, a passionate commitment to spreading the gospel, integrity, and humility. Above all, it was their unwavering faith in God's work through their lives that sustained and guided them. In every season, they remained obedient to His will.
In reflecting on his life, Dave shared these words:
“I took a few more minutes from my perch to process my feelings and contemplate the lesson I had just experienced: dying to self and our own agendas…I am even more humbled and honored that God continues to use me, a flawed human, to bring His message of love and hope to others. Once again I’ve learned in the school of faith there are no graduates, just interns.” —Dave Mueller
Mama Joy and Papa Dave's legacy reminds us that the journey of faith is never truly completed. It is a continuous walk of trust, obedience, and surrender to God’s purposes. They were, and always will be, examples of faithfulness, and their lives invite us to stay in the "school of faith"—where we never stop learning, growing, and being molded into the likeness of Christ.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” —2 Timothy 4:7
This classical Christian school located in the Oloshaiki community of Narok County, Kenya will be the first of its kind in the region. It began as a dream in the hearts of Dave and Joy Mueller, now a dream come true through the Mueller memorial fund. Mueller Memorial Academy includes four classrooms, faculty housing, a water system, a dining hall with a kitchen, and agricultural buildings. As well as a thriving corn crop and hearty multiplying cattle.
Mueller Memorial Academy started its first school year in January of 2025. With more than 75 students enrolled. All teachers employed at this school are trained with the Classic Christian school model offered by The Rafiki Foundation in Kenya.
Our vision in establishing this Classical Christian School is to educate students, beginning in Kindergarten, as image bearers of God, fostering their minds and affections to consider what is true, good and beautiful. We will use Rafiki's robust curriculum that equips students to be godly contributers to help Kenyan society flourish.
