Our Hope Center Model

We take a holistic approach to children, families and communities

A Hope Center is made up of programs that work to meet the most pressing needs of the surrounding community. Locally-led and designed to become self-governing, community leaders are given the tools needed learn how to operate independently (see more in link below).

The core programs of all our Hope Centers include: Clean Water, Widows Might and Student Sponsorship. Additional programs may be implemented at various Hope Centers based on need and resources. All of our Hope Centers are purposefully integrated with gospel proclamation and Bible-based discipleship.

Widow Sponsorship

More often than not when a husband dies, his family will come and forcefully take everything of value from the widow often leaving her and her children homeless. Many of our widows never had the opportunity to attend school or had to drop out due to circumstances outside of their control. Our Widows Might program provides skill and business training, proving to be highly effective in helping each widow become completely self-supporting.

Student Sponsorship

We support the education and development needs of students in rural Maasai villages and in the Kibera slums of Nairobi. We feed 3,000 students combined at our Hope Centers schools, providing what may be the only meal that day many of our students will receive. We also provide student sponsorship for our communities neediest children that covers their school fees, scholastic materials, and required school uniform.

Clean, Safe Water

16 million Kenyans lack access to clean, safe water. 20,000 children in Kenya die every year due to water borne diseases. Kenya Hope is working to decrease these numbers by providing our Hope Centers with their own well water system. A water system will include a deep well (800 ft was deepest to date!), solar powered panels, and a water tower. One well will provide an entire community, hundreds of families, with clean safe water daily.

Gospel impact

Illiteracy rates are high in rural Kenya, which is why we utilize solar-powered audio Bibles spoken in their language. One audio Bible will be listened to by many as friends and family with gather around to listen. We also utilize the Jesus film to bring the story of the gospel to life. Our local pastor conferences seek to train and equip the community's pastors to effectively use the word of God to disciple their congregations according to God's Word.
