16 Million Kenyans Lack access to safe water

  • In Sub-Saharan Africa around 3 in 10 people live without safe, clean water. The remote Maasai communities make up a lot of this number.
  • With no choice but to use water from ponds and rivers shared with livestock and wild animals, an estimated 20,000 children die every year in Kenya due to water borne diseases.
  • Periodic drought conditions common in many parts of East Africa, add to and heighten the desperate need for clean water in these rural communities.
