KISUMU - BAR-KARUMBA

Kisumu has the highest ratio of AIDS in Kenya because of the culture of the people.  There are hundreds of AIDS orphans in the city of Kisumu and in the outlying areas of the District.    Special Ministries has been given land on which to build a Hope Center at Bar-Korumba, a village area about 7 miles from Kisumu town.  Our first building is this school building being used right now as our Chapel.

In 2010 we hope to be able to build a clinic and a Girls’ Home to protect girls at risk from AIDS.  We have started the teaching seminars for mothers and guardians of the children, and our Pastor is teaching the people each Sunday to help them know the Lord, and grow in Him.

The Sponsorship program has 21 children sponsored, but we need to sponsor many more of these needy children.

As Bar-Korumba is a new Hope Center, we need much prayer to know how to proceed with the most needed help for the people.   Pray for the teams that will work there to build buildings and teach the children and their families.
